Tekken Short Coming Soon - Preview Pics

(Posted In Action Martial Arts Random Geek Talk )

JIN10c.jpg
While the folks over at Shadow Motion Pictures are working on the CGI in their Devil May Cry: Sins Remembered (previous Twitch Article #1 and #2), they decided to create a live action short with a few of the Tekken Characters. Jin Kazama and Bryan Fury battle it out in Tekken: King of Iron Fist.

Just to avoid confusion, this has nothing to do with the Tekken film currently in development hell of which not much has been heard in over a year now (previous Twitch Article)

The King of Iron Fist short will go live in a couple of months, and director R.L. Scott has passed along some promo pics to feast on in the mean time.

omg, tribal-tattoos.

hehe, they both look like: »gosh, it's so EXHAUSTING to contract all my muscles all the time!«.

» Posted by Jonas at December 19, 2006 11:07 AM

Heh. Roger dat.

» Posted by Maya at December 19, 2006 02:36 PM

The last one looks like he's pulling a huge fart and is ashamed about it.

» Posted by Swarez at December 19, 2006 03:31 PM

whoa... they look totally badass. I am so psyched about seeing this film, Tekken rules and Mitt Lenix and Shane Seo rock!!!

» Posted by guyver at December 19, 2006 04:05 PM

wow, these guys are ripped. I have always been a fan of Tekken, but I never thought I would get to see any live action rendition of it. I eagerly anticipate the release of this killer short. Tekken lives.

» Posted by tekken fan at December 19, 2006 08:45 PM

These guys are ripped, but they are weak. They need to bulk up more. I'm easily bigger than these guys, and in decent shape. How are these guys supposed to be intimidating, or taken seriously, when they are this thin?

» Posted by Crown at December 20, 2006 05:56 AM

see if u can do better they are perfect its a group of ppl doing its not hollywood dude so shutup

» Posted by s0rrymate at December 20, 2006 10:21 AM

these guys need to add lot's and lot's of muscles

» Posted by ashish at December 20, 2006 12:11 PM

They look like a bunch of nerds that sort of have muscles (with the right lighting).

» Posted by Colemanrancis at December 20, 2006 04:32 PM

wow... I detect a lot of jealousy in the last couple of posts here. these guys could probably kick your ass easily. atleast they have the balls to create a movie, what are you doing besides sitting at home, hiding behind a keyboard being negative and reading about them?

» Posted by Guyver at December 20, 2006 05:45 PM

This is just a short fan film, so we should know not to expect Hollywood calibre stuff. From what's shown so far, the actors look decent for the part.

» Posted by Jin at December 20, 2006 07:04 PM

Pathetic

» Posted by Pathe at December 20, 2006 07:46 PM

For all the people who think that they need more muscles:

If you've actually seen Jin in tekken, he is not that big, he doesn't have big humongous muscles. So shut up losers =D. Please. For the sake of the human race.

» Posted by John at December 21, 2006 12:10 AM

for all those people saying these guys need more muscles...don't be so sure......bruce lee was skinny as fuck and he was easily stronger than some people tweice his size......also just cause you can bench a car doesnt mean you could use that strength in a fight......its different generating strength in a consistent, concentrated movement.....a fight is neither of these.....not to mention the fact that these guys may have crazy tendon strength....I've run into people that were skinny and shredded as hell....didnt look that big but had the strength of a mammoth....

» Posted by Lehel at December 21, 2006 12:19 AM

These punks could use a cycle or two of Barry Bonds' famous beef-roids diet. Guaranteed to addd 30 pounds of muscle in one off-season and it won't show up on regular steroid tests. Bonus!

» Posted by Dildo at December 21, 2006 01:30 AM

These guys are tiny compared to Jin and Brain in the game! it doesn't matter how strong they are in real life or how strong Bruce lee was .... if the actors don't look the part then they shouldn't be in the movie. I know a lot of Tekken fans who were looking really forward to this are going to be really disappointed after seeing these pictures, i know i sure am!!! and if you don't feel the same well then how can you even possibly be a Tekken fan at all! sigh..... :'( although i really do hope it turns out to be a good movie.

» Posted by Kazu at December 21, 2006 04:39 AM

...or it could be that you were playing an older Tekken on PSone in 50hz on a PAL machine with borders and slow-down. That'd explain why you think they should be more beefy LOLZ!?!

» Posted by Gazz at December 21, 2006 11:14 AM

Where's PAUL PHOENIX?????
Tekken is not Tekken without Paul !!!

URAAAAAAAAHHHHHH~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!

» Posted by Rune at December 21, 2006 03:41 PM

news flash people... you guys are saying they are not big enough for the parts, but It's a video game we talking about. who is to say how Jin or Bryan would look if they were real people. no one can look like a game character pound for pound... it's not a realistic form. hugh jackman wasn't as big as wolverine in the comics, but he nailed the role and I don't think anyone could have played him better. atleast wait to see these guys in action. they are after all, champion martial artists.

» Posted by Guyver at December 21, 2006 04:42 PM

who-the damed hell is producing this movie,Jin is japanese, and bryan is british;is this going to be an F-up movie.!!!!none of these guys no MARTIAL ARTS!!!! It's going to be a sorry ass movie like the cartoon...you need guy who directed VERSUS;to do this flim.!?!?!?!?! Least Sammo hung is doing SOUL CALIBUR...your MARTIAL ARTS MOVIE CONSULTANT.

» Posted by john at December 26, 2006 01:20 PM

i wouldnt say that about these two guys. i know them personally and well they are not the two to say that they are not good at what they do. they are great and they do all their stunts themselves. they're not like these hollywood actors who are scared to break a nail and have stunt doubles..

» Posted by Amanda at December 28, 2006 02:06 AM

they all look like twigs!!!!!!!! the last photo looks like he has bowel probs........ they also look ugly and stupid!!!!!! wheres nina???? shes the best......COME ON MAKE A FUCKING MOVIE OF TEKKEN NOT JUST SOME LIL CHARACTERS IN ANOTHER MOVIE!.

» Posted by gabrielle at December 30, 2006 03:58 AM

Wow, I've developed a soft spot for Bryan Fury. I mean he looks so mean in the game and this upcomming movie, but I bet he has a soft side too... Sure he's half cyborg badass... but I know he has human kindness. I don't know about the rest of the world's perspective but he does have a gentle look in his pale blue, green, grey eyes. I'm the kind of person that sees the good in people.

» Posted by Mrs. Fury at January 6, 2007 02:19 AM

For everybody that comes on here and wanna dawg out my boy bryan fury is a lil punk that need to shutup! I know him personally and he one of the coolest guys around with an awesome chance to make a name for himself in short movies, so don't hate ppls!

» Posted by Ammarwio at January 8, 2007 09:32 PM

I have to admit these pictures are alot better than I thought a live action adaptation would look like. However Im a huge Bryan fan so anything less than perfect is unacceptable and fustrating. I am an independent filmmaker and would give anything to make this film myself. I just hope that anyone who makes the tekken film has a genuine love of the material. In my opinion somthing is not better than nothing, it has to be done right period. that being said where the hell are all of Bryans scars and muscles?

» Posted by Evan Hardin at January 10, 2007 06:21 PM

You have to give credit to these actors. They're doing it for the love of the game so to all the people out there trying to critique them and putting them down, take my advice just watch the finishing product and then give your opinions. Regardless of how good or bad the outcome of the movie is you should appreciate the effort and time they put into this. Ofcourse you can't expect the same quality as the high budget hollywood movies, but just enjoy what they have to offer and leave it at that. And let me be the first one to say this to them.. Thanx for making this movie and being another Tekken fan myself , if I had the chance I would love to try out for the Jin Kazama role in the upcoming Tekken movie produced by Crystal Sky Productions. Peace out. Brandon Le aka Jin Kazama. Check out my myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/127002929

TEKKEN MOVIE IN PRODUCTION (PLUS VIRTUA FIGHTER LIVE ACTION MOVIE).

Crystal Sky Pictures has still got Tekken movie in development
and the script should be rewritten to follow the story up to Tekken 1 and Tekken 2 games.IMDb website has got about five Tekken script writers on the board and some should go and do other movies.
Virtua Fighter could go into the big screen as Alan B Elroy and Simon West to write the script for the movie and Simon West will direct the movie as well.Zide/Perry Productions should gets their hands on the Virtua Fighter series.
VF movie will be loosely based on the Virtua Fighter 5 video game as the plot centres around the evil corp known as J6 taken over the world and only Akira and the Virtua Fighters must travel to the Tournament to stop the shadowly villian Dural.
That's the end.
BRUCE ACOSTA

damn you suck ! ! !
my muscles are even bigger than their's

» Posted by Boner07 at April 18, 2007 12:43 AM

As a tekken fan myself, they did a good job with the cast, just that I don't believe the storyline should immediately go right after tekken 3, 4, or 5-ish. It should've started between tekken 1 and 2-where the whole storyline was starting to unfold rather than letting a lot of non-tekken fans in the dark and not know what's going on, you know?

As for the Bryan Fury and Jin Kazama characters are concerned, I'm impressed and I'm psyched to see how the play their character. The only down side I see is that Jin's tattoo was drawn horribly and the director of the film should be someone who has experience in filming martial art films,

» Posted by red14 at April 29, 2007 09:05 PM

damn they are skinny. but as long as they can fight smoothly and with style then im all for it. but they should buff up a bit though just to get the body. other than that i think that the looks are alright.
