Website and Trailer For Swedish Thriller Exit With Mads Mikkelsen

(Posted In Continental Europe and Russia Film News Thriller Trailer Alert )

exit.jpgIt's looking to be a very good year for Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen what with his performances in the Oscar submitted After the Wedding, a powerhouse turn in Ole Christian Madsen's Prague, to say nothing of his upcoming villainous turn in Bond reboot Casino Royale. But in the buzz around his Danish and American projects we somehow overlooked a starring turn in Sweden, where Mikkelsen has the lead in Peter Lindmark's thriller Exit.

Thomas (Mikkelsen) is a man who has it all: family and career at its best. But when his company's most lucrative business deal ever is about to close, something goes horribly wrong. An edgy thriller filled with unexpected twists and turns takes us behind the scenes of the financial and upper class world. Hunger for power and money but also loyalty, love and sacrifices are all questions that Thomas suddenly has to face, in a game of life and death.

I can do without the nail gun, but beyond that, can't wait. Mikkelsen has an amazing face, you can project almost any emotion onto it at any given time -- fascinating to watch.

The trailer looks very good but how have the reviews been?

» Posted by swarez at November 11, 2006 08:27 AM

Looked at IMDB and two Swedish reviews and the score on IMDB is below five and the reviews gave it two and three stars. Doesn't look good.

I should have said 3 out of 10 in one of the reviews.

Where-ever PRAGUE is screening, run-don't-walk to the cinema. Bloody fantastic film. Hopefully we'll have a DVD soon.

Whenever I read reviews by Scandinavians on their own countries films, they all say they're crap.
I guess we'll wait for a torrent to decide. lol

Well it's obvious you haven't read Icelandic reviews. It's sort of a tradition that all Icelandic films get at least three stars by default, wether they are crap or not. This is such a small community and everybody knows each other so critics are afraid to offend the directors in case they don't get invited to the premier. It's also been known that the filmmakers take the critisim personaly and some have gone down to the newspaper offices and complain.
It's because making films over here is so expensive and attendence to local films is usualy very low so it's hard to break even. The reason for poor attendence is because of the default three stars and people don't trust the reviews anymore. So it's a vicious circle.
