The third edition of the "If You Were Me" series commissioned by the National Human Rights Commission of Korea consists once more of six shorts: Muhammad The Hermit King by Jeong Yun-cheol [정윤철] (Marathon), The Girl Disappeared by Kim Hyeon-pil [김현필] (Wonderful Days), GaP by Lee Mi-yeon [이미연](L'Abri), A Rough Life by Noh Dong-seok [노동석] (My Generation), Bomb! Bomb! Bomb! by Kim Gok [김곡] and Kim Sun [김선] (Capitalist Manifesto: Working Men Of All Countries, Accumulate!) and What Shall I Do? by Hong Gi-seon [홍기선] (The Road Taken). The films deal with everything from illegal immigration to racism and workplace insecurity. The collection was shown at the Jeonju International Film Festival and the Pusan International Film Festival and will inevitably be released on DVD.
The first edition of If You Were Me appeared in 2003 and featured the works of Park Kwang-su (A Single Spark), Yeo Kyun-dong, Park Chan-wook (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance), Yim Soon-rey (Waikiki Broothers), Park Jin-pyo (Too Young to Die) and Jeong Jae-eun (The Aggressives). If You Were Me 2 came out in 2005 and featured the talents of Park Kyung-hee (A Smile), Ryoo Seung-wan (City of Violence), Jung Ji-woo (Blossom Again, aka Sarangni), Jang Jin (Righteous Ties), and Kim Dong-won (Repatriation). The first two films of the ongoing series may now be purchased together as a special limited edition set.
