Masafumi Yamada's Waiting for the Flood (Teibô wa kôzui o matte iru) is scheduled to be screened at the Dejima Japanese Film Festival - "Dejima" for short - in the Netherlands in early November. As was reported here on Twitch back on May 20th of last year, the 50-minute movie was produced for Cineastes Organization Osaka EX (Shineasuto Ôganizêshon Ôsaka Ekishibijon) - "CO2" for short - and was screened there on February 14th of last year; it was also screened at Nippon Connection in Frankfurt, Germany on April 13th of last year. It stars Teruhiko Nobukuni, Mahiro Hattori, Eiji Teshima (family name may be "Tejima"), and Tarô Iwai.
Here's a description of Waiting for the Flood from the Dejima website: "Outrageously bizarre and alienating. YAMADA Masafumi's second feature, like his debut Tsuburo, will arouse an extreme response. The industrial backdrop, in which hissing pneumatic machinery and buzzing power cables call the shots, becomes a protagonist in its own right. Meanwhile, a husband and wife attempt to draw closer to one another, but how can they succeed if colleagues who blow a fuse identify with their environment? Preceded by two YAMADA shorts: the origins of his singular universe."
