I actually first came across this trailer for the new Hal and Bons shorts a good while back and never gave it a good look, a fact I'm kicking myself for now. Why? What I didn't realize until spotting the listing for the films at the Hawaii International Film Festival website is that this pair of CG animated dogs is the creation of one Katsuhito Ishii. That's right, the Kill Bill animator and director of Taste of Tea, Funky Forest (Naisu No MorI), Sharkskin Man And Peach Hip Girl etc etc. Ishii's become a big favorite of mine in recent days and now I've got something new to track down ...

yep, i sent you this didnt i, some time back. anyway, yes its an ishii-scripted project, and the DVDs set for japan - but no english subtitles - soon.
The animation in Kill Bill was killer (no pun intended) and I'm looking forward to seeing Funky Forest at the TADFF. I'll check back on this trailer then.
ramble on...

Hmmm no subs on the dvd? I am surprised since both the Hal & Bons set and the Grasshoppa Omnibus series the four original shorts appeared on all had english subs. (I have them so this is verified). Plus it's Kinetique: there is a good chance that English subs will show up in the specs later on. Or so I hope.
