A new trailer for Paprika, the latest from acclaimed director Satoshi Kon, has appeared on the official Japanese website for the film. No subtitles on this one but it does such a fantastic job of presenting the iamgery of the film that you really don't need them ...

My gushingly positive review.
Grady Hendrix's Equally Positive Review
I really like the fact that Hayashibara is in this as she hasn't done much voice acting lately. She still has one of the more original voices out there, which makes all the difference when the general voice acting in anime tends to be pretty monotonous throughout.
Wonder if the eventual Japanese DVD release is going to include subs. If not, I hope Sony will release a R1 disc soon as this looks worth getting -- then again, Satoshi Kon films usually do.
Looking forward to it! It'll be shown at the HIFF (Hawaii International Film Festival). I'm glad to see that Hayashibara'll be in it as well.
I wrote the program description(s) for Paprika for the upcoming Chicago International Film Festival and in doing so fell completely in love with it. The crime of it all is I can only go to CIFF for the opening weekend, so I'll miss it. Oh well, The Host will do the trick enough.
Gimme!
I'm glad to see that my favourite director and favourite voice actress have continued to work together after Paranoia Agent. Hopefully the DVD release isn't too far away.
i think kon is a little bit better with the darker side of things.

I had the fortunate luck of being one of the first few hundred people in the world to watch this fantastic piece of anime in the leeds film festival. Im a dedicated fan of Satoshi Kon's work and i loved the complicated story, he has a way of capturing grim reality and mixing it with surrelism to give you something so beautiful yet sinister! I absolutely loved every mintue of it and cannot wait for it's dvd release!
