Test Reels For Chuck Gutierrez' Despidida

I have very high hopes for Despidida, the upcoming feature debut from Filipino director Chuck Gutierrez. We first became aware of Gutierrez around here thanks to his work behind the scenes on Yam Laranas' Sigaw and we later learned that he was a very talented short film director and excellent cinematographer in his own right.

Well, with Laranas on board as a producer Gutierrez is now prepping his first feature film and has posted a pair of test sequences on his new blog. I actually saw the first of these a few months back but was sworn to secrecy at the time but the project is a little farther along now, a little more stable, and Gutierrez has just given the all clear to take these public. Bear in mind that none of this is final footage, none of it is even shot on a professional grade camera, and that these are purely trials shot to establish the feel and tone of the film. That said, there are finished films that don't look this good.
