Von Trier's Antichrist Is, Once Again, A Go.

(Posted In Continental Europe and Russia Film News Horror )

bloodylars.jpgAccording to Screendaily - via Cinematical - Lars Von Trier's on-again off-again return to the horror world is on again. First announced way back in 2004 the film in question is titled Antichrist and it looks to tap in to the gnostic concept that the world was actually created by Satan, not God.

Von Trier has openly gone on record saying that he needs to make a commercially successful film to bank some money and that this will be that project. Having seen everything the man's made since his student days I can conclusively say that he hasn't got a commercial bone in his body and never has - his pre-Dogme stuff is, if anything, even more oblique - which makes that statement laughable in the extreme but being someone who has lusted for a conclusion of any sort to Von Trier's Kingdom series for years now I'll welcome his return to horror with open arms.

In another quirky bit of Von Trier news it turns out that his new film The Boss of it All, which was previously announced as a Dogme style film actually is not. What it is is a film shot completely and entirely without a cameraman, the camera set up on a tripod with any movements pre-determined and controlled by computer. Yep, he's a bit of a freak but he's never a dull freak.

Hey, first time poster here.

Anyway, I'm always into new, interesting and quirky film making ideas - even if they turn out no good. Like Russian Ark, the first full length motion picture filmed in one long continuous shot.

So I recognized the picture of the guy in the post, and he's the one who challenges Jørgen Leth in "The Five Obstructions." I didn't think a whole lot of the film, but it was interesting as hell and really breaks some ground in film making.

Now this new idea you mention of an entire movie with no camera man? Sounds, again, really interesting. I'll be excited to check that out.

geting late..bed time.

I'll be back for more stories. new site for me and I'm really getting into it.

Cheers!
