Comic-Con Promo For Zack Snyder's 300 Hits the Web

(Posted In Action Film News Sci-Fi / Fantasy Trailer Alert USA and Canada )

300poster.jpgThe Comic-Con promo reel for Zack Snyder's adaptation of Frank Miller's sword and sandal epic 300 has hit the web via Movies For The Masses and I'm honestly not quite sure what to make of it. I've been avoiding all of the pre-production video on this one for some reason so I wasn't quite sure what to expect and while Snyder's hit on a rather unique visual style I'm not entirely sure whether that's a good thing or bad thing at this point, though I'll wager that it looks far better on the big screen than streaming in a little window online.

Thanks to Roraz for the pointer.

this isn't actually the comic-con footage, although it does contain a lot of the same shots, especially towards the beginning. but the stuff from comic-con featured much less quick-cut editing and more of the type of continuous-battle panning-shot stuff that snyder discusses a bit in the production journals. there was also more of the ol' ultra-violence, a lot of which is missing from this new promo.

and yes, it does look far, far better up on the big screen.

Yeah this seems like a PG-13 promo. Still looks promising, though.

It looks very promising. Much better then Troy or Kongdom of heaven

I think it just looks amazing!
sure it has a theatrical flavour that many might find a put off, but it totally fits the content here I think.

very stylized. but looks promising. surely it trumps Troy or Kingdom of Heaven...

Kingdom of Heaven is amazing if you watch it in the director's cut version.

Amen to that Caterpillar!
And 300 looks great. I have seen that clip at least 4 times now and i just can't wait to see the whole movie.

There's an awful lot of jumping and screaming for a Spartan phalanx. They don't look terribly professional or robotic, which was what set the Spartans as soldiers apart from any other hoplites or infantry.

Saw this yesterday. That footage is badass. This is right up my alley.
