A First Look At Shoot 'Em Up!

Good thing I saved it, because that looks freaking phenomenal.

I'm a big fan of Michael Davis, and I knew what he set out to do here, but I had no idea that a guy who's mostly done romantic comedies could pull off a slick action flick like this. Fantastic cast, and what looks to be some great set pieces are going to make this a must-see next year!

Well, if their version of how they got it is true - and I have my doubts what with the prettied up home page for the reel and New Line logo prominently displayed - then this is from a Cannes sales reel that was forwarded to them without the studio's knowledge. They would have then added the watermark themselves. If they've really put it up without studio permission expect it to be down within 24 hours.

When I first heard about this film and saw some of the early storyboard sequences I thought it was a put-on. Now I can't decide if it looks awesome or horrible.

Running around with guns and a baby - very Hard Boiled. But Paul Giammati as a killer with guns ....I'm not buying it! Having said that, I'll buy anything with Monica Va-va-voom Belucci in it. (except for Irreversible)

Why? You want to make tender love to her instead of rough anal rape? Try to be a bit more realistic here, dude!
