The YesAsia listing has not yet been updated to say that there are english subtitles included but they are, indeed, there ...
Need a reminder on this? Katsuhito Ishii, ANIKI, Tadanobu Asaono, Susumu Terajima and more weirdness than you can shake a stick at. It's an experience, folks.

I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of loot on a DVD. I guess I'll be waiting for the HK.
Would a Japanese calander be of any use to a Brit?
Im very tempted to go for the special edition of this- the Taste of Tea limited edition is one of my all time favourite DVD's- although obviously no subs on the extras the packaging was sublime, and it came with reproductions of the 'flick' books that the grandfather drew. Very much looking forward to this when it comes out.
According to both the English and Japanese descriptions on YesAsia, there is no mention of English Subtitles as previously reported.
if you do a google with the two relevant piece of text youll see japanese sites confirming english subtitles like forest plus, 7dream, DVDDirect and so on... title is : ナイスの森 english subtitles : 英語字幕
Yesasia overcharge! :@ Pre-order the special edition at amazon.co.jp for just £30 incl shipping :D
I don't think Amazon Japan ships free outside of Japan, Meow. They certainly don't to North America. I just checked. With the cheapest shipping option from them - which typically takes at least six week to get to me - it costs $57 from Amazon and when it gets here it'll be held in customs for at least a week and have, typically, a $25 customs fee tagged on. I've NEVER ordered anything from Amazon Japan that didn't get stopped by customs. That makes the total $82, and I have to wait a month and a half to get it. The fast shipping option from them would bump the total to $91.
YesAsia, on the other hand, ship for free to anywhere in the world, ship much faster than standard shipping from Amazon and with shipping centers in the UK, the US and, once again, in Canada (they just set up a new shipping center here) I NEVER get dinged for customs, so YesAsia saves me five bucks in total and I get it faster. I know the sticker prices are higher there, but 95% of the time they end up being the cheapest option when total costs are factored in. It's why we have our affiliate account with them ... I've used pretty much every other source for Asian DVDs out there and I'm consistently happiest with YesAsia in terms of both price and service.
MisterVTR: according to the manufacturer the subs are definitely there. It's pretty common for initial listings in Japan to go out incomplete and get filled in later.
Thanks for the info. I also checked some other Japanese sites, and say the Englsih Subs as well.
I order from Amazon.co.JP all the time, and have never had anything held-up in US customs. In fact, it appears that all items are sent in bulk from Amazon.JP directly to their US Amazon shipping facility, which then sends the items out using regular USPS mail. The post marks start in the US. All my recent packages were sent out this way.
I know that Amazon.JP shipping is free within Japan when I send items to my family in Tokyo, however it is never free to the US.
Ah, I'm in Canada and unless they've changed since last time I ordered from there - possible, it's been a while - they ship direct from Japan to here. And I get hammered every time.
The savings on the regular edition, shipping included, if you order from amazon instead of yesasia is about $2.50 US, probably not worth the extra wait. The savings on the special edition, however, is a substantial $17.50.
