Details On Shinji Aoyama's Crickets (Kôrogi,『こおろぎ』)

The latest from director Shinji Aoyama - my reviews of Eli Eli Lema Sabachthani, An Obsession, Wild Life, A Forest With No Name, and EM Embalming - seems to have snuck up on a good many people unawares with many - myself included - completely unaware he was even working on something new until it was announced in the Venice lineup. So, our thanks to Jason Gray for digging up what meager details there are ...
The film is titled Crickets (Kôrogi,『こおろぎ』) and stars Suzuki Kyôka as a woman caring for an old blind / mute man away in the countryside and who has her own grasp on reality slowly slip away.
No website, stills, trailers or anything appear to be available at present, though we will keep our eyes open. A full synopsis is available on Jason's site.

Even that tiny snippet of information makes me ridiculously excited, from what Ive seen of his work I think hes a fantastic director.
