As many fo you have noticed the areas of the site maintained by X have not been maintained for a little over a week now, meaning there have been no updates made to the Korean Film Databank, the Chungmuro Daily or the K-Drama hub. There is a reason for this, which is good for X, but sad for us, namely being that X has taken a new job which while far superior to his previous job will not leave him the time to continue contrubting to Twitch as an active writer, though he will certainly still be poking around as a reader / commenter and - hopefully - tipping us off to major developments. When he told me he would have to go he asked me not to make a big deal of it at the time and so I've remained mum until now, when announcing his departure is pretty much necessary for the next bit of news to make sense.
We are very pleased to welcome a new member to the Twitch team, that being Goran Topalovic. While I certainly wouldn't suggest that Goran is 'replacing' X - because I don't think X can be replaced - he will be taking up the mantle of Korean news hound, bringing us updates on new films in devlopment, trailers, box office news, etc from that part of the world. He'll also chime in on Baltic area film from time to time, when the occassion arises. Some of you may already know Goran as one of the founders of Subway Cinema, the good people who put on the annual New York Asian Film Festival. He also does some writing for Asia Movie Week so it's quite safe to say that we're in good hands.
So ... teary farewells and cheerful welcomes all 'round ...
X was a good goddamn guy and a very good writer. Best of luck in what ever it is you are doing mister.
And a warm welcome to Goran.
A very very warm welcome to Goran. Looking forward to future updates.
And farewell to X, I'm glad to hear he's found success!

X--you've been such an amazing resource for Korean cinema, so this is truly a tearful farewell. You brought new meaning to the concept of in-depth reviews (your coverage of Korean dvds' special features is unrivaled, seriously), and I imagine there are many Twitch readers beyond just myself who will miss not only your writing, but your insight into the historical and cultural context of whatever it was you were writing about. And here I was already eagerly awaiting your coverage of the 'Bloody Tie,' 'City of Violence,' and 'The Host' dvd's...
Anyway, best of luck in your new job, and a hearty welcome to Goran, whose first post I hope to see soon...
So sorry to be losing X as a regular contributor -- he wrote a tremendous amount of high-quality news articles and wonderful feature reviews -- but glad that he's obtained a better job.
As for Goran -- super! I enjoyed reading Goran's blog before losing his URL in a system crash, so very happy to welcome him to the site.
thanks for all of the news and time you spent on your entries, X.
and welcome aboard, Goran.
Hope you have success in what you are doing now. Good Luck in the future, and thanks for all your uselfull korean information.

Wish the best for you My Dear X \(^o^)/
OMG, X, The Man with the funniest words has leave ? I just can say nothing. But X, pretty sure it's the best for you and thanks a million tons for all your efforts, making this kinda site something i'm looking forward every single breath. Farewell is never easy, but good luck for your new world !
Good luck X,
To say the least your reviews here are impeccably researched, extensive and well-written. Sorry to see there won't be more of them.
Welcome, Goran
Ditto about X's Xxxit from Twitch. He will be missed but remembered in our archival memories!!! Welcome Goran!
Yeah you've been one of the key reasons to visit twitch, without a doubt, helping make it the best english langed site for upcoming asian movie news. Thanks buddie hope it goes well for ya.
Ah one of my few holy fonts of Korean filmic knowledge is outta here! Thanks for all the hardcore effort X, you've made much of my time trying to sift through the good and the flat out crap in Hallyu much easier. Good luck with all your future endeavours! ^_^
And a big WHAT'S CRACKIN'?! to Goran.
Good luck with your new job, X. Sorry to see you go. We'll miss you.
And Subway Cinema? The site with the sweet reviews? Hi there Goran. :)
X, you will be very greatly missed. I loved to read not only your brilliant and informative film reviews but you were my compass through Korean dramas.
As one of the above replies said your dvd extra reviews are priceless. Helped out in many a Korean dvd purchase.
Good luck with your promotion/new job and best of success to you!
I'll truly miss you and I hope you can find a film/Drama you liked so much so that you will feel the need to write about it. I hope that you are bitten by the writers' bug and will return someday.
And a warm welcome to Goran, whose predecessor left a very high standart and I can't think of anyone else who will maintain it so well.
It might be a coincidence. Today is the last episode of Screen Flash, my favorite TV Show about Korean cinemas nowadays of Arirang TV. I've to say goodbye to Richard Kim and the show.
And now, I ran across here, reading this news and have to say goodbye again to mr. X, someone that I admired very much since the first time I came to this site.
Good luck in your new work, X ! ^.^
Sad to see X going. What a tremendous resource he was, and his detailed descriptions/translations of the bonus features on Korean DVDs were so helpful to those of us not fluent in Korean.
X - best of luck to you. Stay in touch.
Congratulations on the new job.
You've gone above and beyond what most people would do. Your contributions will be missed. It's been a pleasure reading your bulletins and reviews. Hopefully you'll have the time to enjoy watching more movies and TV shows. I can't imagine how much time it took for you to write all of those lengthy articles. Thanks again.
Goodbye & congratulations X - best of luck in your new endeavors. Welcome Goran!
Dang X we're gonna miss u! Good luck with the new gig and hope to see you around here sometime.
Dear Mister X,
I REFUSE to say good-bye or farewell to you in ANY Way !
A dear buddy just informed us. My mind is on a whilwind of jumbled words at the moment so if I'm seen incoherant, I apologise.
Only a couple of weeks ago I came to Twitch and now you are leaving..heard so much about you EVERYWHEE in the Korean Drama/Series world that I adore.
You not only give intricate fabulous comments/reviews/notes on anything Korean worth / not worth mentioning, you have educated the newbies and oldbies alike in all your writings.
Sincere heartfelt thanks to all that you have done for all of us and all that you are by being exclusively you - Mister X - an icon of the Korean Hallyu Wave.
Big SOBs...feel like doing one of them protest marches done by the K stars in protest of the viewing quota - yeah, I'll be one of those with the Big Korean Gongs/drums saying "HELL NO, WE WON'T LET YOU GO!" with a big entourage of Soompiers, D-Addicts, Hotelier2002 and the whole jing jang gang from the K online world.
.....All My Very Best....hope to see you around...good luck in your new journey - have another fulfilled life ahead.
My apologies - a belated warm welcome to Goran - those are big shoes you are stepping in but I'll be cheering you on all the way, AJA
God bless, E
X, your reviews have given added dimension to my kdrama and movie viewing, so it is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to you. Thank you for everything, and congrats and good luck for the new job. We're gonna missed you.
X,
You are a treasure. I will miss you and your writing desperately. Congratulations on the new job, and good luck. I hope to see you around, both on here and JisubAddicts.
By the way - a very warm welcome to Goran. :)
Thanks for the kind words. I didn't really find 'success', but working with your uncle in a better environment is success in its own way I guess. And oh... it has nothing to do with the film world nor the internet.
Anyhow, this doesn't mean I'll stop writing. I won't have much time for the next few months, but eventually I'll start annoying people with my prose again. I started a little Korean blog (link is down there with the name) where I'm putting all my old reviews, the Drama ratings, and commenting on other things every now and then (mostly in Korean, actually). Still, any new review will be in dual Korean/English, and if Todd wants to use it here as well, be my guest. I'll also be writing a little for YesAsia, although that's just a few articles a month.
Plus if my instincts don't lie and 'some film' ends up releasing on DVD around Christmas, I have a little exclusive Xmas gift planned for Twitch. Shht...
Thanks everyone, and now a big welcome to Goran. I like all you Subway Cinema guys so I'm sure you'll do great. I pass the ball to you. Fighting!
