If you'd asked even a year ago I would have still likely said that Hong Kong film was in the decline but the past year has seen a major turn around, with a whole lot of gritty crime dramas and action flicks with nary a frisky pop star to be found. And add Herman Yau's On The Edge to the list of coming old-school crime flicks.
Yau's picture stars Nick Cheung as a cop trying to reintigrate to daily life after spending eight years on a deep cover assignment and faring, shall we say, less than well. It's a great premise for a film and based on the trailer it looks as though they've pulled it off in fine style ...
