Don't know why the delay in getting 'Windy Tales' onto DVD, but in Japan it has just begun and will conclude in the next couple of months too. Exact dates, Volumes 1 & 2 July 21st 2006, Volumes 3 & 4 August 25th 2006, Volumes 5 & 6 September 22nd 2006. No English Subtitles, but the point is that the show is highly regarded and this bodes well for a reasonably quick R1 USA DVD release sometime soon now that they're heading out into the open in Japan, hopefully - there's a new site for the series (made in 2004) now online with what seems to be new information and content - even though you can clearly already download fansubs and see them elsewhere, as has been the case since they were made. Secondly, that recently-announced pop video for French star Mylene Farmer is now on YouTube, link below.
'Windy Tales' Official Website in Japanese.
'Windy Tales' Synopsis and ratings at Anime News Network, similar at AnimeNfo.
'Mylene Farmer' Pop Video by Production I.G at YouTube.
'Mylene Farmer' Information in English at Production I.G American Website.
Good to see info here on smaller shows like this. :)
Highly regarded? :? If this wasn't Production I.G. I doubt anyone would be in a hurry to pick it up. And it's taken ages to be fansubbed, too. Not questioning the quality of the show - it was something of a disappointment to me but I still loved it - just questioning your assertions.
I love this show! Hopefully we'll see a subtitled DVD release someday.
This show is warm and tender, and close to the heart of why I watch anime. For the intimacy...
