severance_poster.jpgThe official website for Christopher Smith's Severance is now online, and there's a downloadable trailer for the movie on that site. (Thanks to James Moran for this information.) Pathe Distribution Ltd. is scheduled to release the movie theatrically in the U.K. on August 25th.

The screenplay for Severance was written by Moran and Smith, based on a story by the former. The movie stars Danny Dyer, Laura Harris, Tim McInnerny, Toby Stephens, Claudie Blakley, Andy Nyman, and Babou Ceesay.

Below is a synopsis for Severance from the website of international sales agent HanWay Films Limited.

International arms company Palisade Defence rewards its European sales division with a weekend of paint-balling and office-bonding, at a corporate retreat.

The team of six arrives to find the accommodation is more basic than they were expecting and by the end of their first night, company playboy Harris has convinced everyone that the resort was the site of a gruesome massacre involving a group of deranged yet highly-trained soldiers. The one person who doesn't believe him is computer boffin Steve but maybe that's because he's taken a batch of LSD and is convinced that the local deer are insulting him.

The next day the team is horrified to discover the weekend agenda has changed as they are stalked by a crack team of war-crazed soldiers with revenge on their task-list. In a fight for their survival they discover one business motto is true... 'kill or be killed'.

I really loved creep, and I can't wait for this to hit...
i'm not a massive fan of Danny Dyer, but i'm probably soured from having to sit through Danny Cannon's 'football factory' AND 'The Busiess'.... both of which were weak films, Dyer was good in 'Human Traffic though

I am really looking forward to this movie. I personally don't keep Creep in my highest regards. It had its moments, but overall I just couldn't get a feel for it. But the direction of it was astounding and can't wait for this one. Great song in the trailer too. Anybody know the name of the song and the band?

Hotness. CREEP met my expectations just barely, but this looks to be scads more fun. Can't wait.

Wow, I didn't realize SAW IV was coming out so soon. I thought CREEP was pretty lousy, but then again, I didn't think THE DESCENT was all that great, either, so...

Creep was just alright but this looks like it might be loads of fun. If he manages to mix the humor and the horror well enough that is.

The song in the trailer is Oh Yeah by The Subways.

Severance is a cracking little film, hope you all enjoy it.

Oi Tom Hartshorn! The Buisness & The Football Factory were not "weak films". You don't know what a GREAT film is even if it kicked you in the face. Danny DYER (btw) is a good actor and gives the movies' so much more. Can't wait to see this film. Looks' awsome!
