Park Joong-Hoon Shares Bibimbap with Greek Wedding Star

(Posted In Asia Comedy Drama Film News USA and Canada )

pjholly.jpgBy now, it's a pretty known fact in Chungmuro that, outside of Korean-Americans or people who studied/were raised in the US -- like Lost's Kim Yoon-Jin -- Park Joong-Hoon is one of the few Korean stars who can handle roles in English just as well as in Korean. After his work in American Dragons and The Truth About Charlie, Park will star once again in an Hollywood film, this time a romcom.

The star of 강적 (Les Formidables), which will hit theaters in a couple of weeks, will star alongside My Big Fat Greek Wedding's Nia Valdaros in Bibimbap. Park will fly to the US as soon as the shoot for his upcoming 라디오스타 (Radio Star) completes, before the Chuseok Holidays. Valdaros will also write the script of the film, which is produced by Tom Hanks's Playtone.

The film tells the story of a Korean-American chef and his love story with a food critic. Director hasn't been decided yet, but more details should be disclosed in the next few months. [Daum News]

I can't wait to hear the trailer voiceover guy say the film's title. Man, I never would've imagined I'd be ever telling the B.O. ticket seller "2 Bibimbaps, please."

I dig the premise. Hopefully it'll be a good and proper showcase for Park's comedic abilities. THE TRUTH ABOUT CHARLIE hinted at it a little bit, but he's capable of so much more.

Yay! It's nice to see some Asian guys in US movies. I just hope he's not going to end up being a geek or a loser and will be portrayed as a normal guy.

I love love LOVE Park Joong-hoon. I've actually missed all of his latest movies, but for a long while after Nowhere to Hide, I tried to see everything he was in. I'll definitely support this one!
