Well the title says it all really. The Fountain before Halloween. An interesting release date for a reasonably large (in scope) movie. It should be out just in time to avoid the cheapo horror glut (Saw 3 anyone?). Marie Antoinette is also going wide on the weekend of the 13th and Pan's Labyrinth has the slimmest chance of going wide if North American audiences don't mind the subtitles. That would make it a 'twitch-heavy' weekend. And while were at it lobbing out release dates, How about one for Lucky McKee's The Woods and Richard Kelly's Southland tales (Yes, re-editing ST is a bitch, but throw us a bone here, well another bone after the title of this post (which has derailed at this point)).

this is sorta off topic of the fountain, but you mentioned it in the post, so i guess its sorta ok....anyway, you made mention of re-editing southland tales. is this true? is it because it got such a bad review at cannes?
I think it is three-fold:
1) The film is waaaay over 2 hours, Studio has to have real confidence to put a film out there at that length...
2) The mixed reaction at Cannes
3) There is always DVD for the 'Cannes Cut' of the film.
The release date has been changed to Nov. 22.
