So It's a Better Tomorrow Indeed. In Korean

(Posted In Action Asia Drama Film News )

Mmmh... what to say.

It might not be with Jang Dong-Gun, but it looks like the Korean remake of 英雄本色 (A Better Tomorrow) will see the light of the day. Star News (through a Hollywood Reporter... uh, report) notes that Korea's Fingerprint bought remake rights of the film from Hong Kong's Fortune Star for John Woo's 1986 classic, which starred Chow Yun-Fat, Leslie Cheung and a lot of squib. The film will be released in December 2008 and enter production at the end of 2007. President Park Hyung-Joon of Fingerprint commented that "this is one of the best Hong Kong films of all time, so it's an honour to have the opportunity to remake it. I can't wait to tell this story and shock younger viewers not familiar with it."

But more than anything, the key here will be who will be cast in the film. Won Bin will be already out of the military by then, and of course there's always people like Jang Dong-Gun and Lee Byung-Heon. Or, if you want a more 'Korean Harry Potter version', there's always Yonsama. Ahhh, the choices...

More on this in the coming, uhh... years. I still can't believe it, but if they say it's a Better Tomorrow, it's a Better Tomorrow.

Haha, that's awesome! I wish they would start remaking Hollywood movies, though.
