Summer's coming and the DVD release schedule is picking up steam ...
At the top of the new titles announced, by far for me, is Pang Ho Cheung's Isabella. Isabella is a family drama with a crime twist starring Chapman To as a disgraced cop and Isabella Leong as the daughter he never knew he had. That is, until he propositioned her. Pang is quickly establishing himself as one of Hong Kong's finest, Christopher Doyle was at the helm for part of this, the trailer looks gorgeous and the press has been very good.
Also coming soon is the Hong Kong edition of Japanese mind bender Synesthesia with Ryuhei Matsuda, fantasy oriented rom-com The Shoe Fairy, and the first batch of digitally remastered hits from Joy Sales including Jackie Chan's City Hunter, Stephen Chow faves Royal Tramp and Royal Tramp Two, and Chow Yun Fat drama All About Ah Long. And speaking of Chow Yun Fat, the remastered A Better Tomorrow trilogy is getting a cheap reissue, albeit it one without the spiffy metallic case of the previous release.
The above linked titles take you to DVD details, hit the links below for trailers where available.
