New character, new series (seven shows, each at 30 minutes) and co-written by Coogan with Neil McClennan. Hopefully no abysmal failings of Tony Ferino, the cabaret-esque singer from some years back which pretty much sank without a trace, instead (hopefully) more classic stuff and another hit show from his company Baby Cow.
This time, Coogan is Tommy Saxondale, ex-roadie (now pest control officer) and boyfriend to Magz (Ruth Jones of 'Nighty Night') who owns a T-Shirt shop called 'Smash the System' selling supposedly politically revolutionary designs to the public. Loads of guest appearances / cameos lined-up, with Mark Williams (of 'The Fast Show' and more) and Armstrong & Miller also set. Directed by Matt Lipsey, the man behind the helm for 'Supernova', 'Catterick', 'Human Remains', 'Dr.Terribles House of Horror' as well as Armstrong & Miller's popular 90s shows for Channel 4.
Look out also for 'Tristram Shandy' making it out on DVD this Summer, but for now this is the only information leaking out for this new show via several websites.
