Well, not sure how this happened without anyone noticing, but while browsing the web site of a tiny Canadian DVD distributor today I spotted a familiar image: the cover of Thai action flick Tiger Blade. Turns out these boys from Montreal have licensed the film for Canadian release and neglected to tell anybody. The Canadian DVD is out now, and I assume it is free from the annoying censorship blurs that mar the Thai release. You won't find it on American retail sites unless somebody's selling it used, but it's totally legit and you can find the Canadian release here.
No amount of uncensoring will save this movie from being bad.
A mediocre movie that's not even rent-worthy. Save your cash for something else.
Is this version dubbed?
After the first sequence, I thought this was going to be pretty worthwhile. Saying that it was all downhill from there would be an insult to hills. What garbage. Nice opening, though.
todd, i told you....
You did indeed, jiangtou ... forgive me for my unbelief ...
this was dumb fun :)
How come zero marketing for this flick?
Well, I enjoyed the Tiger Blade very much. Call it a guilty pleasure. I'd very much like to know if the Canadian version is free of the awful pixellation censoring that was inflicted on the Thai DVDs.
