Distribution rights for Julius Sevcík's Czech-Finnish drama Restart are being offered for sale by MonteCristo International LLC at the Marché du Film in Cannes. The movie is being screened at the Gray 2 on Friday May 19th at 5:30 p.m. (17:30). Bontonfilm a.s. released the movie theatrically in the Czech Republic on December 8th of last year.

As was previously reported here on Twitch, the screenplay for Restart was written by Sevcík and Ondrej Ládek (note: all names are written in ISO 8859-1 (Latin 1)), based on the short story "Upreal" by the latter. The movie apparently stars Lenka Krobotová as Sylva, Filip Capka as Martin (Sylva's boyfriend), Anna Polívková as Marie (Sylva's best friend), Václav Jirácek as Robert (Martin's brother), Hana Seidlova as the mother of Martin and Robert, Marko Igonda as Václav, Tomás Pavelka as Patrik (Sylva's boss), Iva Pazderková as an Afterparty Club bartender, Kostas Zerdolaglu as an Afterparty Club doorman/bouncer, and Jan Révai as a dancer at the Afterparty Club. It was scored by Filip Mísek of Khoiba.

Here's a synopsis for Restart from MonteCristo International's website: "Sylva's life used to be all clubs, drinks, and the love of her boyfriend Martin. Until one night, in the throes of party agony, she makes a fatal error and says something unforgiveable to her lover on the phone. After he hangs up on her she realizes her blunder. Now, scared and abandoned she sets out on a journey to win back the love of her boyfriend. Driven by a building fear that Martin is lost to her forever, Sylva's brain sputters with raw, increasingly paranoid scenarios of what's happened to him... the lines blur between what is real and what has boiled over from her imagination. Confronted by a series of obstacles she rides an emotional roller coaster towards a final collision. A collision that signifies the moment of a total system breakdown. And... at the same time, the moment to... RESTART."
