Thanks to Shinjuku for pointing the way to the website and trailer for the latest by Dai Sijie, the director of Balzac And The Little Chinese Seamstress. Les Filles Du Botaniste is the story of two young women put on trial - literally - as a result of their lesbian relationship and it certainly doesn't look to be an ugly film. The trailer from Besson's Europa Corp is quite explicit on the nature of their relationship, so take that as your Not Safe For Work warning ...

just watched the trailer, looks like a wonderful (although melodramatic) film. the cinematography was absolutely stunning! having lived in China for many years (although not in the country side) i have to say this film difinately reminde me of the beautiful landscapes in rural china. the score was very evokative as well...beautiful use of traditional chinese instruments. can't wait to see it...if it ever makes its way to New Zealand! lucky for the people in europe who gets to enjoy this early!
I would really love to get a hold of this film somehow. either through download or even on DVD/VHS. Does any one have suggestions?

hi, can't wait to see this movie. Does anyone know where i can get this movie?...really really wanna see this movie...thanks :P
I just saw the movie, it came out on DVD in France I think, I got a copy in Pal, in the middle of watching it. Filmed in Vietnam, as the subject is too taboo to be filmed in China. But so far I have mixed feeling about the movie, the point of view is very occidental although it is beautifully filmed.
