The official subsite for Ken'ichi Fujiwara's Benibara fujin is online, although at present it's just a home page.
The screenplay for Benibara fujin was written by Fujiwara, based on the eponymous novel by Oniroku Dan. The movie's principal cast is as follows: Kaori Sakagami, Mikio Ôsawa, Kanji Tsuda, Hikaru Nagase, Koran Kuroda, Masaaki Takarai, Hideto Katsuya, Tsunekichi Fujiwara, and Akihiro Shimizu.
Art Port K.K. (K.K. Âto Pôto) is scheduled to release Benibara fujin theatrically in Japan on May 27th.
Other movies based on works by Dan include Hiroyuki Kawasaki's Oniroku Dan's 'Schoolgirl' (Dan Oniroku gensaku: jogakusei), Takashi Ishii's Flower and Snake 2: Paris/Shizuko (Hana to hebi 2: Pari/Shizuko), and Ishii's Flower and Snake (Hana to hebi).

Has anyone ever attempted to create a list of ALL the films that have been made from Oniroku Dan's novels? Speaking of which, how many novels has the guy written? And why have none of them, not even a classic like FLOWER AND SNAKE, ever been translated into English?
I'm still not sure if I want to watch any of these more recent adaptations. Takashi Ishii's FLOWER AND SNAKE was quite good but so far my favorites are the old Nikkatsu adaptations from the 70ies and early 80ies. BEAUTIFUL TEACHER IN TORTURE HELL and FAIRY IN A CAGE are about as good as it can get, in my opinion.
