'Invisible Children' needs screening time

(Posted In Africa Documentary Drama Film News Trailer Alert )

Invisible-Children.jpgI've been mentoring teens for near 15 years now. What is especially rewarding is watching their lives change and then seeing that change motivate them to change the lives of those with any need. So I use whatever power I have to help them out and tonight I bring to your attention to something one of my former kids, Rose Petal, has gotten himself involved in. I'll let his e-mail do the talking.

I'm working with this group called Invisible Children. It's a group of about our age that went to Uganda to film a movie and came back with an incredibly moving film about local kids and the lengths they go to in order to avoid being abducted into the rebel army. It's an amazing movie, and I guarantee you will not regret watching it. On that note, a group of kids from the organization are driving around, screening this movie, and they want to screen it in Toronto, Montreal, Kingston, and Ottawa at some point between the 7th and 11th of April, but they don't have anywhere to do it. If you could help, that would be AMAZING. Its not a big commitment, its a matter of booking a room with a projector or a TV at your school, church, police academy, or miscellaneous public place, and spreading the word a little bit. PLEASE let me know if you're at all interested. its really not hard, and is amazingly worthwhile. Check it out at www.invisiblechildren.com

There you have it. Watch the trailers. Visit the site. If this is something you can do then e-mail my young friend, John Rozehnal here. Thank you.

I have seen this movie. My sister got it from a friend. The children of northern Uganda are beeing kidnapped, and forced to join an army. They are desensitized by beeing forced to kill their friends. This is happening right now and has to be stopped! I recommend everyone to see this.

this video is by far the most surprizing thing that i have seen in my life!! the vido made a huge impact in my lfe as well as in the lives of many of the people that watched this video along with myself. i saw this video in my english class my junior year in high school. i am now a senior and at my school seniors are required to do a senior project. so one of my frinds and i decided to make our project revolve around the invisible children. so we decided to put together a benefit dance to raise money for the kids. we are also doing a series of presentations in different middle school to raise awareness of this issue. hopefully we meet our goal which is $2,000. its not much but it'll help at least a little.
