Yum... finally we're on the roll again with Korean DVD Releases, after an embarrassingly slow February, and a slightly disappointing first half of March. KD Media just announced their upcoming April titles, and a couple from May too, and there's plenty of interesting films.
We start in April with the action noir 야수 (Running Wild), starring Kwon Sang-Woo and Yoo Ji-Tae. As we reported a few days ago, this is getting a Director's Cut. Also, the controversial drama 홀리데이 (Holiday) with Lee Sung-Jae and Choi Min-Soo is coming out as well. And FINALLY, they're also releasing the popular romcom from last year 광식이 동생 광태 (When Romance Meets Destiny), starring Kim Ju-Hyeok, Bong Tae-Gyu, Lee Yo-Won, and super-cute Kim Ah-Joong from 해신 (Emperor of the Sea) and 별난여자 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch). But we don't stop with Korean releases, as the company also announced they'll release Andrew Lau's 頭文字 D (Initial D), and Mohsen Makhmalbaf's Sex & Philosophy.
In early May, we're 'finally' getting 파랑주의보 (My Girl & I), which looks as fun as sticking your feet in the snow, but also two little surprises: Yaguchi Shinobu's fun スウィングガ-ルズ (Swing Girls) and Tsai Ming-Liang's 天邊一朵雲 (The Wayward Cloud).
Other titles already announced for April are the hit comedy 투사부일체 (My Boss, My Teacher), out on April 4 from HB Entertainment (pre-order here), and Cinema Service will release the Seol Kyung-Gu/Song Yoon-Ah melodrama 사랑을 놓치다 (Lost in Love) [4/7] and the indie omnibus 썬데이 서울 (Ssunday Seoul) on the 14th. More info on all these in the coming weeks, as enterOne and CJ should announce their lineups soon.
