Jade Warrior Teaser

(Posted In Continental Europe and Russia Martial Arts Sci-Fi / Fantasy Trailer Alert )

jadewarrior.jpgBack in August of last year, we reported news of Jade Warrior, the first wuxia film from Finland. Well, the offical site has been revamped with a teaser and it looks fantastic. The film is directed by AJ Annila and the cast included Jingchu Zhang (Seven Swords), Taisheng Chen, Tommi Eronen, Krista Kosonen, Elle Kull and Markku Peltola. Here is the synopsis according to the official site:

Before the ultimate fight between good and evil, he should not fall in love.

Jade Warrior combines Finnish and Chinese mythologies into one film. Jade Warrior is a homage to Kung Fu genre strongly spiced with a truly original approach to Finnish national epic Kalevala. Like Kalevala Jade Warrior is a pure melodrama. A story of Kalevala's greated hero.

Thousands of years ago in ancient China, a love struck swordhero fights againest destiny. He wanted another chance to be reunited with his loved one and he got that chance, in a far away place and a far away time, in the cold north, in modern Finland.

The Finland's theatrical release date for Jade Warrior is set on October 13, 2006.

Fast spotting there Wolf! Just checked the website yesterday and this wasn't online then - and I haven't even seen this reported on any local websites yet either.

That looked very cool. I kinda wish the whole thing was a period piece though. I'm wondering what it looks like in "modern Finland".

Hype, high expectations, and overenthusiasm are all dirty words when it comes to movies, and other entertainemt mediums in general. After 24 year on this planet, I have learned how NOT to get caught up in any of those emotions. But as of right now, I can't help but get super excited about this film. Im hyped up! Period.
