I don't know what I find more disturbing. That picture to the left of a metal fan at the Wacken Open Air metal music festival in Germany or the biography of Norwegian black metal band, Mayhem. I shudder at both.
As the more astute of you know Sam Dunn's wicked documentary, Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, opened in theatres last weekend in cities across Canada. And thanks to a pointer from Jiangtou I was directed to a short trailer featuring part of the film where Sam interviews a couple members from the famed band.
The F-bomb gets dropped. A lot. You've been warned.
Downloadable Quicktime trailer.
yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saw this film at a screening with the director and the main lead. The film is exellent and probably the best documentary on this music genre. I look forward to the DVD as there will be more than 30 min concerning the Norwegian black metal scene that did not make it in the movie. Unfortunatly the movie is too short, and the interviews with the many persons are not lengthy.
What's up with the 30 min. on Norwegian black metal scene not making it to the movie? It's most of what I spend money on and time listening to! I guess the bulk of my favorite music/bands will have to stay underground which is better that way anyway. The "Some music was meant to stay underground" term applies here.Of course I have to buy the DVD. I have to buy underground music so I can here it in most cases except for trading asnd some special radio and cable shows. Oh, and the internet of course!
