Automaton Transfusion: New Independent Zombie Film

(Posted In Film News Horror Trailer Alert USA and Canada )

automaton.jpgBad zombie films ... well, there are a lot of them. Good ones are much harder to come by. Steven Miller's Automaton Transfusion looks to be a good one. The intertitles in the full trailer are, shall we say, optimistic, but the footage itself looks fantastic. The film is very well shot and the energy positively crackles ... here's a synopsis:

"In the early 1970’s when everyone in America was worrying about what was going on in Vietnam, the Unites States Army was secretly developing a way to reanimate the dead. The hope was to have the dead fight instead of the living, but the experiments were shut down when the reanimated corpses were unable to control their hunger for human flesh.

Thirty years later the army has decided to reopen the project. Grover City, because of its remote location, would be the home of their main testing facilities. Without warning the experiments go horribly wrong in Grover City and the DEAD are now on the rampage, eating everyone in sight.

With the town overtaken by Zombies, a group of High School seniors take it upon themselves to fight back and find a cure for this deadly disease.

“Automaton Transfusion” is a non-stop adventure of four friends battling there way through swamps, forests, blood, and ZOMBIES to survive!"

Yah, those titles are a bit bold and will inevitably be all talk, but the footage does look pretty good. It looks less generic than your average Sci-Fi channel original production, but there also wasn't anything at all that looked revolutionary.

Here's to hoping I'm wrong. Thanks for the info, Todd.

The trailer looks cool. But the style of the direction looks way too much like Zach Snyder's Dawn of the Dead (granted, I think that movie's a great zombie flick).

I agree, the titles were a bit bold- but that trailer kicks ass!! I would go see the movie at least to find out if the rest of the film is just as good.

Trailer looks freakin awesome....and it sounds amazing too. They must have dumped some SERIOUS money into that little baby. Hope they did for the film too!
