The Dungeons & Dragons Guy really, really owes Sam Raimi a royalty cheque. You think Mr. Soloman can make Donald Sutherland or Sissy Spacek give a performance as bad as the one he got out of Jeremy Irons? (I shouldn't be so negative, but the D&D movie: Ouch!)

I saw a screening of this horrible film back in November at the AFI Film Festival. It all made sense to me when I realized it was Courtney Solomon directing. This film tried so hard to be the next classic horror, but with so much confusing editing and effects and transitions looking so lame, it made the film very distracting and stupid.
The acting was pretty bad too. I felt bad for Sissy Spacek who's only had a big hit since In the Bedroom. Her time will come again though. I didn't buy any of it due to the weak script and story. I won't waste my time getting into story. I'm sure there's synopses everywhere online. Don't waste your time watching this.
What is it with Raimi and Ghosthouse? Have they ever produced a decent film? The Grudge was a hit but it was just as bad as the original.
Here's the link to my review from AFI FEST. The comments section includes longer comments by Paul (who was more negative than I was) and Matilda and daniel fredericks (who were much more positive than either of us).

I saw the movie at AFI as well and thought it was one of the best horror movies I ever saw. The actors were great, esp. Rachel Hurd Wood, the camera, music....I couldn't sleep all night after the screening. I recomend everybody to go to see this movie.
I've been waiting to see this movie forever. The trailer looks good and though I keep seeing mixed reviews, I just get more intrigued to see this movie.
