Somebody out there must have a personal grudge with John Fawcett. It's the only thing that explains the fact that his latest film, The Dark, is going straight to video. I mean, come on ... all the advance buzz is good, it's got a director with a loyal cult following thanks to Ginger Snaps, it's got a great cast in Sean Bean and Maria Bello, and the footage is just gorgeous. I suppose the first clue that all was not well should have been that the trailer existed only in a dubbed German form. If they can't even bother to put out an English trailer and treat the film right, why would they bother to release it ... sigh ... DVD hits in April. [source: Arrow in the Head]

Variety gave it somewhat of a pan in their very, very short review of the film Here. But with that cast, and the fact that Ginger Snaps was just an all around great flick...I'll be checking it out come April...
