Knyaz Vladimir (Князь Владимир) Trailer, Russian animation

Knyaz Vladimir.jpgFans of classical animation should definitely have a look at this. A new full length animated feature film from Solnechny Dom Studio is coming out in Russia. The title of this animation is "Knyaz Vladimir" or "Prince Vladimir - Part One: The Choice". It is based on a true story of Prince Vladimir Svyatoslavovich, a historical figure of Russia who is responsible for the foundation of the ancient Russian state. The plot follows the events surounding Vladimir since childhood and into adulthood. There are plans already to release the sequel, "Prince Vladimir -The Feat" in 2008.

From what I seen in the video, I was impressed with its beautiful background art and the vibrant colors shown. The animation quality is easily up to par with any of Disney recent classical animated film.

At the official site in the English section, there is wealth of information on the historical background of this character. There is also a gallery section and two trailer link.

The film is schedule for release in Russia on February 23, 2006.

Beautiful fairy tale. Krivdza (he not real, evil character) - tried to make war between three kind brothers.
Three princes Yaropolk, Oleg, Vladimir --were three sons of Svjatoslav(king), but Vladimir - he was given birth by servant{slave}-woman.
The animation film is gorgeous, beautiful, I was pleasant, but "kind christian" Yaropolk has made me laugh!!!

In a real history wizards do not exist.
In a real history " the kind Christian " Yaropolk killed his brother Oleg, and tried to kill Vladimir to receive authority above all Russia.
Khan Kuria (Yaropolk's ally) has not interfered with interstine war. (the Most interesting, that khan Kuria killed his father Svjatoslav, made a bowl of Svjatoslav's skull and drink wine from it).

But Vladimir escaped from Novgorod, and has returned with a hired variag team . Vladimir has taken Polotsk, Kiev (Blud has advised Yaropolk to run to Roden). Vladimir has besieged Roden. Terrible famine began. Yaropolk has decided to conclude the peace (Blud has advised). When he has come in a Vladimir's room, he was killed by two variags.
Vladimir became the king of all Russia, began conquer of slavic tribes. Conquest of slavic tribes proceeded for a long time. All Slavs should be united into one nation(russian) !

8 years later Vladimir has accepted christianity and christened Kiev (988 AD).
Vladimir married the Byzantian princess Anna.
Russia became the powerful state.
