The official subsite for Gen Takahashi's Confessions of a Dog (Pochi no kokuhaku) is online. The movie is scheduled to have its world première at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival 2006 (Yûbari Kokusai Fantasutikku Eigasai 2006) - "YIFFF" for short - in Hokkaido, Japan on February 26th at 11:30 a.m. (11:30).
The screenplay for Confessions of a Dog was written by Takahashi, with "documents and ideas" from journalist Yû Terasawa. The movie stars Shun Sugata, Hironobu Nomura, Jun'ichi Kawamoto, Harumi Inoue, Kunihiko Ida, and Gen Idemitsu.
Here's a description of Confessions of a Dog from the English-language page (see below for link) for the movie on the YIFFF website: "Based on the ever-increasing crimes commited by Japanese police, this is a social entertainment film of a sensible officer Takeda (SHUN SUGATA). Involved with the bad cop Mie (GEN IDEMITSU), Takeda gets currupt and fails his life with a national cover-up operation. ¶ With the documents and ideas from Yu Terasawa who is a famous journalist for problems with police, the story deals with real crimes by police. With the reference to Japanese press who cannot report police crimes, the film successfully portraits a national crime caused by a cozy relationship among the police, the public prosecutor's office, the court and the media. The fear of the society controlled by the police is described with the shocking last 6 minutes."
