Wow where did this come from? Oh well Im looking forward to it anyway I guess, cant find any info on the manga its based on though.
3 Hours?!!? Oooooooooh. Kitamura films are TOO long. And yes, what is the word on the manga and storyline? It's all very interesting that it is playing at a festival but what is the movie about?
ooh, nice cast!
Any idea on what its actually about?
any links to a trailer ???
A 3 hour Kitamura film? All his others drag on and on as it is...why add another hour of that? What a jackass.
Its strange, it seems to be quite an 'old' cast, Im looking forward to seeing Susumu Terajima, I think hes awesome.
Personally I am not a fan. I feel his films have zlich for character development or emotional involvement. None have had plot lines that remained interesting over the running time of the entire movie... Which leaves the action scenes. I might be alone on this one, but I personally think Kitamura's action scenes are frightfully boring. They are not especially well choreographed, I don't care about the characters in the fight, and most of all the "action" goes on so long it becomes about as exciting as the string of Coke and Ford commercials they play at the local multiplex. Lifeless characters punching eachother is NOT exciting. Though characters we CARE about punching eachother can be...
Maybe I'm just bitter over not being won over by his somewhat shoddy Godzilla film... though I'm not the only one on that, the film received a generally dour response by fans here in tokyo. Sigh..
I actually love his films, he's highly entertaining even on a low budget,so, ofcourse I am looking forawrd to this film. Thankfully Hideo Sakaki will be in it, which is always a plus. I do think that is one of the best actors ever to be repeat cast member of Kitamaru.
Is there any new info on this? An official website? Trailer?
I need to see it!
