Noboru Iguchi has at least two movies scheduled to be released in Japan this year that are based on works by famous manga-ka: Oira sukeban and Nekome kozô: The Movie (working title).
The screenplay for Oira sukeban was written by Iguchi, based on the eponymous manga serial by Gô Nagai. The movie's principal cast apparently includes Asami, Emiru Momose, Saori Matsunaka, Shizuka Itô, Demo Tanaka, Chisa Imai, Shô Sawamura, Kaori, Miwa, Kentarô Kishi, Hiroaki Murakami, and Beat Arima (Bîto Arima). King Record K.K. (Kingu Rekôdo K.K.) is scheduled to release it theatrically in Japan on February 4th, and on DVD (KIBF-361) there on March 8th.
As was reported here on Twitch back on September 8th of last year, the screenplay for Nekome kozô: The Movie was written by Mana Yasuda, based on the eponymous manga serial by Kazuo Umezu. The movie stars Miku Ishida, Naoto Takenaka, Hiromasa Taguchi, and Ryûji Sainei. Art Port K.K. (K.K. Âto Pôto) is scheduled to release it in Japan later this year.
Iguchi's previous directing credits include Snake Girl (Madara no shôjo) - one of the movies in the Kazuo Umezu's Horror Theater (Umezu Kazuo: kyôfu gekijô) hexalogy - Saishû seiki! Natsume Nana - kyûkyoku no erosu (viewer discretion is advised), Impolite Education (18-kin - abunai kankei: the kinshinsôkan), the short "Evil Guy" ("Yôchû no harawata") - a.k.a. "Entrails of a Larva" - and A Larva to Love (Koi suru yôchû).

bring out the oscars... >_>
Why do all live-action Go Nagai movies (with the exception of CUTEY HONEY) have to be such complete and utter zero-budget garbage? This is actually at least the second live-action OIRA SUKEBAN flick. The manga and anime OVA are fun but the movies will castrate you with sheer awfulness.
