Here on Twitch a couple of days ago, ryan - one of our readers - asked whether there were any updates on Shûsuke Kaneko's God's Left Hand, Devil's Right Hand (Kami no hidarite akuma no migite). According to Shusuke-Kaneko.com (see immediately preceding link), "Shusuke Kaneko has put the finishing touches on his latest motion picture, God's Left Hand / Devil's Right Hand, a horror film derived from Kazuo Umezu's hyper-violent manga Kami no Hidari te, Akuma no Migi Te." Nineteen production stills from the movie have been added to that site.

As was previously reported here and there on Twitch, the screenplay for God's Left Hand, Devil's Right Hand (Kami no hidarite akuma no migite) was written by Yoshinori Matsugae, based on the eponymous manga Kami no hidarite akuma no migite by Kazuo Umezu (other manga of whose the Kazuo Umezu's Horror Theater (Umezu Kazuo: kyôfu gekijô) hexalogy was based on). The movie's principal cast is as follows: Asuka Shibuya, Tsubasa Kobayashi, Ai Maeda, Momoko Shimizu, Saaya (on the left), Reon Kadena, Daikichi Sugawara, Natsuko Yamamoto, Toshie Negishi, Yoneko Matsukane, Toshiyuki Watarai, Haruna Imai, Tarô Nogi, Nana Shirasaka, Norie Watanabe, Aoi Hirosawa, Mai Nakajima, Sae Shimizu, Hana Serizawa, Aiko Umeda, Shun Nishiura, Hiroko Toda, Mayu Sakuma, Mika Kamiya, Momoka Fujie, Tomoyuki Washizu, Akira Saitô, Kunihiko Mikami, Keisuke Nomura, Hiroaki Kawatsure, (Kazuo) Umezu, Shigemitsu Ogi, and Tomorowo Taguchi.

Here's a synopsis for God's Left Hand, Devil's Right Hand from Shusuke-Kaneko.com: "[God's Left Hand, Devil's Right Hand tells] the tale of a string of grizzly murders perpetrated by an amateur illustrator ([Tomorowo] Taguchi) living alone with his invalid daughter. As the murders become more heinous they are sensed by six-year old Sou (Tsubasa Kobayashi), a young boy with a strongly developed sixth sense. After witnessing one of the murders in a dream, Sou is hospitalized due to an unusually strong connection with the victim that caused him to breakout in similar wounds. Investigating the matter is his sister Izumi (Asuka Shibuya). Traveling to the countryside in search of clues communicated to her through a smashed cell phone by her sedated brother, she teams up with Yoshiko (Ai Maeda), who is searching for one of the murdered girls. Delving deeper into their investigation, the two young girls find themselves captives of the insane killer."

Toshiba Entertainment K.K. (Tôshiba Entateinmento K.K.) plans to release God's Left Hand, Devil's Right Hand theatrically in Japan in the summer of this year.
