New Ergo Proxy Trailers!

ergoproxy.jpgMy pick for the big anime series of 2006? Without a doubt, it's got to be Ergo Proxy, the latest from the director of Witch Hunter Robin and the writer of Samurai Champloo and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Witch Hunter, I think, is an enormously under rated series and it looks as though this latest will mine that same fusion of philosophy and action that made Witch Hunter great. Dark, atmospheric and just plain gorgeous. And there are two new teasers and a lengthy new trailer to show you. Anybody got word when Geneon is going to start releasing this in North America?

i've been outta the anime vine for awhile now but this looks interesting and dark... i like dark. *giggles*

The airing date has been changed slightly from the last one. I believe it's currently set to air 19th of January on WOWOW in Japan. Doubt it will hit R1 DVD any time soon - or depends how many episodes it'll be in the end..

Trailer looked quite nice though, hopefully it'll be good. There's been way too many disapointing titles recently and my interest in anime is decreasing rapidly.

Wow. The Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series is my favorite and so's Witch Hunter Robin. Samurai Champloo also is a top-rater in my book, so I can't wait for this one to air.

Love the trailer...I just wish it was subbed so I could understand what they were saying. Samurai Champloo feel to it definitely, perhaps rock style? Love the visuals.

Interesting: they're going to use Radiohead's Paranoid Android as the opening song for this. Radiohead only gave permission to use the song after they saw a preview of the anime, so apparently they liked what they saw. [Source: Anime News Network]
