Jason, (son of Ivan) Reitman has made a fine (if a tad light-weight) satire of the lobbying industry with Thank-You For Smoking. Sure, cigarette companies, which the movie focuses on mainly, are an easy target, but there are moments of great comedy in the film, which is carried off with aplomb by a nice cast. Aaron Eckhart is always a pleasure to watch, Maria Bello, J.K. Simmons and William H. Macy are their usual solid selves. But casting of Sam Elliot as the 'Malborough Man' dying of cancer is pretty nifty. And Rob Lowe gets to ham it up as a Hollywood Studio Exec.
Anyway, The trailer is online. I love the film festival accolades embedded in cigarette packaging (I caught this at this years TIFF, and the opening credits of Thank-You For Smoking are a nice ode to cigarette packs).
