Back during the Worldwide Short Film Festival we talked some about a short titled Egg, a bizarre little stop motion piece reimagening the story of Moby Dick as a pirate tale occuring on the inside of an egg. That one went on to win awards around the world and today I got an email from Egg's art director steering me to his own short, a surreal black and white piece titled Jettison Your Loved Ones. IT's every bit as odd as the synopsis suggests:
"A man addicted to faking his own death strives for glory while his abandoned son, a boxer who thinks he’s from the future, falls in love with his half-sister, the world’s greatest swordfighter."
Check it out.

Wow, that was just a bit too pretentious for me. It was like your typical trying-too-hard-and-watching-too-much-Wes-Anderson film school project. And it's on the Slamdance website? I'm more confident that we can get our movie into Slamdance now.
I though it was really good. Very entertaining. It's way better than the other films on the Slamdance site.
So damn good. Piled high with flavor. Yep. Flavor.
