I think I should just come to terms with it. My childhood memories are being repeatedly bastardized and there is nothing I can do about it. I can post about it and whine like a little child but this won't change the fact that 'Hollow'wood is simply in love with taking all those old TV shows people my age watched while we grew up and remaking them. The saying goes in some manner, 'There are two things you can be certain of in life. Death and taxes'. I propose that it should be three things, 'Death, taxes, and Hollywood remakes'.
Wilmer Valderrama, who appears to be ready to stop riding the success of his role of Fes in 'That 70s Show' has come on board for the remake of the late 70s police action/drama CHiPs. I shouldn't have to tell you which of the two main characters from the series he will be portraying. The role of Francis "Ponch" Poncherello was made famous by Erik Estrada. There is no word on who will play Ponch's partner, Jon Baker. Nor is there word on who will helm the film.
Paul Kaplan and Mark Torgove are assigned to adapt the tv show to film. They are writer-exec producers on "George Lopez" and worked on "Spin City" and "Just Shoot Me" as writer-producers. This will be their first film.
This is another television remake project from Warner Bros. [Starsky & Hutch and Dukes of Hazzard] who appears to be willing to be added to my hit list once again.
ahhh.. sad to hear. Grow up with CHiPs too.
What's next, remake of The A-Team? Or are they planning it already?
Hopefully the producers will pull out and halt production before they cast Baker and a director and if they don't I hope I die before this film hits the silver screen.
HEY I AGREE WITH U
