Land of the Dead 2...or Part 5 in George Romero's Dead Series

Great news, as 'Dead Reckoning' drove off into the distance, beneath a sky filled with fireworks, I can remember thinking: 'I really hope Romero makes another'. Now he is, and I am happy.

So we don't have to wait 10 or 20 years to see another Dead film. And what!!! there useing the same characters. That is new for Romero's Dead films. And a sequel being made so soon that is new too. Im not sure this a good sign for some Romero fans mostly the ones that had issues with Land. But i have high hopes for Romero and im quite sure he will do his best to take us on another asskicking ride into Zombie hell. I think the 5th Dead film could lead up to be even better then Land if the cards are played right.

I love the idea and i think it would be smart to bring back some old fashion R-rated Horror back into this world instead of this PG-13 bullcrap so i say go for it george and make sure that this sequel is filled with lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of zombies and have more gore into it with peoples guts and flesh being eatten and have non stop scare effect kinda more like day of the dead i loved that one cause it was so gory and scary

Has anyone heard any updates on this or are plans still as they were?

I haven't seen that anything has actually changed in the short term...Since many of us Twitchfolk are Canadians, you can likely expect updates as shooting begins next year...esp. if it is in the Toronto Area..

I accually just got done watching the movie and I said to myself, I really hope he makes a sequal. Now im not really a big Romero fan i`ve accually never seen any of his older movies but I really enjoyed Land of the Dead. So im really looking forward to the sequal (now that I know there is going to be one). Im definetly going to be on the lookout for the trailors.

I'm relieved the much-hinted at sequel became a reality, finally. I always thought that DAY OF THE DEAD was somehow too dramatically vague at the end, on the island. There had to be something more going on in this reality; the concept was too rich to have been mined out completely. It seems that mr. Romero was always hampered by budget constraints as much as a need to keep the world open at the end of each film so the viewer was left with a sense of incompleteness, hoping for more. This has now become a pattern. I too am wanting/dreading anew film. Will the zombies sing, dance, run things? The mind boggles!

George A. Romero has reinvented the horror genre.The ideas that he had for the 'dead' films are pure genius and probably the best horror stories ever came up with, I have no doubt that 'Land of the dead 2' or whatever he decides to call it will be another master-piece

1 Word marvelous!! Thank goodness they have seen sense in Letting Geroge continue his dead films. I do hope however that its a action packed Zombie fest this time since there traveling through the dead world

Land of the dead was a bit of a disappointment to say the least,
however there was a lot of disruption with production staff and director.

BAD POINTS: Not enough gore, corny dialog, dead end story lines( excuse the pun).
Good POINTS: It got george back onto the scene and gave a rebirth of zombie flicks.

If only the films were NOT made for how many asses you can get into the cinema,
and how much over priced popcorn the kiddies will buy- came into it.

I like zombie films that let's face it scares the shit out of you, makes you jump in your seat and want to buy it on dvd at a later date.

Most of the so called zombie films to date are so lame I would not even waste money on a copie.

Let's start to see the zombie films the way they should be
and not the way the corporate sales team want it made.

Mr. Romero is a genious, and this is not a recent "land/Dead thing
i've been enthralled with his work since well forever, his comments
on society are woven so deeply into the work most dead newbies like
land without realizing its just a small chapter, dawn/dead (orig.)
is still the best

I can't wait for Land of the Dead 2. There has been so many zombie movies since the early dead series, but they all sucked. George has a talent for lighting and creating an atmosphere of tension and realism that no other director can copy. I work in the production industry and I am currently ready to shoot my first film on HDV. I will use Geopge's lighting techniques to create that atmosphere of tension. George is one of the best directors of all time. Just a note in the sequal put in many more zombies in the background!

Romero you are a god of horror movies and there will never be another like you. Thank you for keeping generations scared to death of your awsome movies. I hope that you continue to make these horror masterpieces for many years to come.

i think agood idea for it would be if the director of resident evil and land of the dead combine their movies into one as the chrecters would meet in both movies would team up to fight some zombie god like in the book city of the dead by brian keene(marvelous)and make a trilogy so every body is happy with geniuses george romero and the other guy making one great movie......but hey idont have any experience im just a zombie buff

It's exciting news to see that George Romero is working on the next chapter of Land of the Dead story line. I know it will be something to look forward to seeing...would like to know how the survivors end up.
