Bring on the Boll: In The Name of The King (AKA Dungeon Seige) Trailer Online!

(Posted In Action Film News Martial Arts Sci-Fi / Fantasy Trailer Alert USA and Canada )

nameoftheking.jpgAh ... just as we've gotten tired of poking fun at the craptacular trailers for Bloodrayne the trailer for Uwe Boll's latest opus In The Name of The King - previously known as Dungeon Seige - has turned up online. This time out he's actually got himself a decent action choreographer in Tony Ching (Hero, House of Flying Daggers) and a guy who's a decent action performer in Jason Statham but will it make a difference? I'm betting not and considering Germany has just closed the tax loophole that made investing in Boll's money-losing films an attractive proposition this may very well be his last kick at the can.

The site hosting the trailer is just brutally slow - it's going to take me another 45 minutes to get it down myself - so once I've got it I'll get it mirrored here for faster downloads.

In The Name of The King Trailer (downloadable Quicktime)

Thanks to Fabool for the pointer. And apologies to Opus for associating his name with Uwe Boll.

*** Okay ... I've seen it now ... Statham is actually pretty watchable in this and the action scenes look interesting, though Boll clearly has no idea how to shoot them. But WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED TO RAY LIOTTA!?! So ... bad ... he was on such a good roll around the time Narc came out and now he's throwing his career away as fast as possible. What may save this one from utter disaster is that all the actors seem to be aware that they're in a Very Bad Film and are having some fun with it. Normally you couldn't drag me to see a Boll film but this one may actually work on a guilty pleasure level. Here's the Twitch mirror of the trailer so you can avoid the deathly slow server linked above. ***

I don't know how it works up there in Canada, but here in the States, that might be considered defamation of character. My lawyers will be in touch.

Just finished downloading and watching it 5 mins ago (took about half an hour to download).

I'm not going to comment on the trailer except that Uwe Boll has done it again...

The trailer stops about half way through for me.

WTF!?! Let me get this straight. This is medieval film but there's ninjas in it, a black guy as a knight, Jason is doing kickboxing and Ray Liotta is dressed up as some mafia dude.

I honestly thought that poster had been a photoshop experiment when I clocked it there..Burt has a "why the fuck am I in this?" look on his face..hilarious. I'll check out the trailer now for a giggle.

Wow, that was just a shitstorm of footage, wasn't it? Good lord, how does this guy keep making films? And I feel sorry for every actor in there. Especially Liotta! He does such good work in Narc and how this?! Geez. Not exactly a wise career move.

And I concur - Ninjas??? In a medieval movie? Yikes.

That whole trailer is just plain sewage on celuloid. I want that 5 minutes back!!!

Oh this is trash of the highest order, I'm bringing my MST3K playbook to this one...Too Funny!!

It reminds me of the days of Deathstalker, The Beastmaster and Krull...sweet nostalgic cheese!

no really, this is a joke right?

"You have no idea how powerfull madness can be."

Guess this explains how this movie got made. Ray Liotta looks as if he's channelling Riki Takeuchi!

Honestly, it doesn't look so awful that I'm going to bash it. It looks like Boll's most competent movie yet, which isn't saying much, but with the German tax loophole officially closed now, he may have decided to make a movie people might actually want to see. I'll give this a watch (there are too many people involved that I like), and I'll even be in theatres in January for Bloodrayne, because there is nothing quite like an Uwe Boll theatrical experience.

Hi guys,
I am one step further than you cause I've seen the whole movie in Germany. I was very critical when I stepped in and I was surprised when i got out. It's a mixture of several movies you sure know, but it has structure, really good actors and a good logical story.
find out yourself, this time it's not a waste of time and money.

bye
