The screenplay for Kokkuri-san: Nihon-ban was written by Takeshi Furusawa (he also wrote the screenplay for, directed, and edited Lost ★ My Way (Rosuto ★ mai wei) - one of the three movies in Euro Space's Wara Bancho Series (Wara banchô shirîzu)). The movie's principal cast was as follows: Aiko Itô, Nao Nagasawa (she's in Kôtarô Terauchi's Chikan otoko), Hitomi Kurihara (she was also in Jun'ya Okabe's short "Specter" and Yûdai Yamaguchi's Present (Purezento) - one of the half-dozen hour-long movies in the Kazuo Umezu's Horror Theater (Umezu Kazuo: kyôfu gekijô) series), Kôji Iwakawa, Shôki Tochihara, and Aya Nakamura.

Kokkuri-san: Nihon-ban was released on sale DVD (FDSD-0007; NTSC, region 2, no subtitles) in Japan on August 26th; the release is being distributed by For-side.com K.K. (K.K. Fô-saido dotto komu).

Kazuyuki Sakamoto's previous directing credits include Death Train (Kyôfu ressha) - one of the movies in the Hideshi Hino's Theater of Horror (Hino Hideshi no za horâ: kaiki gekijô) hexalogy.
