The latest movie from Takaaki Hashiguchi (a.k.a. Takuaki Hashiguchi) is the hybrid pink-horror Kuchisake. Takashi Oda (see below) was responsible for the movie's special make-up effects. Its principal cast is as follows: Mayu Asada (she was in Sakichi Satô's Gokudô deka), Minami Aoyama (she was in Kôsuke Suzuki's Stop the Bitch Campaign Again (Enjo-kôsai bokumetsu undô: jigoku-hen)), Lemon Hanazawa (Hanazawa Remon), Kyôko Kazama (she played Lobstera in Takao Nakano's Queen Bee Honey (Bikyonyû kosupure senshi: Kuinbî Hanî)), Hotaru Hazuki (Haduki Hotaru; she was in Takashi Motoki's P-KAN★couple (Pîkan fûfu)), Azusa Sakai, Kikujirô Honda (he was in Takao Nakano's Mikosurihan gekijô: namashibori sûpâ DX), Mikiya Sanada, Taishi Takemoto, Mikio Satô (he was in Kôsuke Suzuki's Stop the Bitch Campaign (Enjo-kôsai bokumetsu undô)), Takeshi Itô, and Shûji Ôtsuki (he's in Iwao Takahashi's Cream Lemon: Ami's Diary (Kurîmu remon: Ami no nikki)).
Kuchisake is scheduled to be screened every Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. from September 7th to October 5th at the Uplink X in Tokyo.
Takashi Oda's past credits - primarily as a special make-up effects artist - apparently include Takeshi Kitano's Sonatine (Sonachine), Shûsuke Kaneko's Gamera: The Guardian of the Universe (Gamera: daikaijû kûchû kessen), (Shûsuke) Kaneko's Gakkô no kaidan 3, Naoyuki Tomomatsu's Stacy, Gen Takahashi's Lady Plastic, Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Doppelganger (Dopperugengâ), and all of Shin'ya Tsukamoto's features from Hiruko the Goblin (Yôkai hantâ: Hiruko) to Vital (Vitâru).
Interestingly, this is not the first pink-horror hybrid from Shintoho. The first came out last year, from the same director - we covered it in the Pink round up last year:

Kuchisake is pretty much the same mixed bag. Not that anyone reading this will ever get a chance to see it anyway.
Why is it that you are so sure, that no one reading this will ever have a chance to see it?
Takaaki Hashiguchi's Kannô no yakata: hitozuma shôten was released by Inter Film Y.K. (Y.K. Intâ Firumu) on sale DVD (IFD-021) in Japan on January 8 of this year, under the title "Iwakutsuki: Doll House".
I'd like to see Hashiguchi's Woman Prisoner Torture (Zoku joshû gômon seme), which was released by Junk (apparently, a label of Five Ways K.K. / K.K. Faibu Weizu) on VHS (JK-008) in Japan on November 22, 1998.
