We've been tracking the progress of Paul Fox's The Dark Hours for a good little while here and our excitement about the film has been growing as has the positive word of mouth from the festival circuit. The dark thriller picked up the Audience Award for best film at Dead By Dawn and also a best actress nod at the just-completed Fantasia Festival.
Here's the official synopsis from Fantasia:
"Warning: This film will tear your heart out. Dr. Samantha Goodman is a psychiatrist in her late thirties, dealing with what could politely be described as a life-altering situation. Hoping to get her mind together, she decides to spend the weekend at a winter cottage with her husband and sister. All chances of healing are shattered when a brutal sex offender and former patient of Dr. Goodman’s arrives to take the group hostage in the center of oblivion. He is a hypodermic needle dripping with controlled hate, and together with his protégé, he will force the family to partake in a cruel series of "games." Games designed to punish… and reveal."
We linked to an early rough cut trailer a while back but we have just been given a first look at the brand new, freshly back from the lab, official trailer thanks to the good people at Capri Releasing. Check it out:

Maybe it's cuz it's really quiet in here and it's 4 am... but that trailer is AWESOME.
way cool - finally a good film has come out for horror
funny games any one?
5850 downloads yesterday ... guess I'll be boosting the bandwidth limit this month :) ...
An excellent trailer for an OK film. I was surprised at this receiving the audience award as the Spanish 'Killing Words' seemed so much better received.
The thing about these psycho survival horror things is that it's so ridiculously easy to take the guy out, especially seeing as there's what? Four of them and one of him? Rush him and jab a thumb into his eye socket. Kick the groin and smash the back of his neck when he bends over, then stomp on his head when he's on the ground until he stops moving. It's really not that hard. Just takes some initiative.
I could'nt have said that better.
To any naysayers... go shoot a feature film in 18 days for 700k and have it actually not be a piece of shit. Then... come talk to me.
...........more like whiney games.
Hey dumbasses, the psycho killer in this movie isn't who you're supposed to think it is. It's more of a head trip than a "psycho killer survival movie" Maybe if you actually payed attention to the story instead of talking through the movie so you wouldn't get scared, you might actually pick up on the story.
Also, kind of hard to kill someone when you're already dead. If you don't know what that means, you either haven't seen the movie, or were too much of a juvenile jackass to pay attention.
Morons.
