Two Version "Lady Vengeance" the Next Korean Monster Hit?

Again "Lady" news, as Park's latest film has reached the top of the 2005 domestic online presales record list, with 81.96%. The only film to beat that record so far has been Spielberg's War of The Worlds with 89.90%. The film's record is even more impressive considering it was slapped with the dreaded "18 and over" rating, ranking second in the all time list of 18 rated releases after 스캔들 (Untold Scandal) which still tops with 84.4%.
And that's not all, since only 122 theaters out of 350 (the film's expected nationwide screen number) are accepting pre-orders as of today, so by the end of the week the record could be beaten. This promises good things for the film's box office prospects, especially because it's selling well amongst the "30 something" crowd. Past smash hits like 태극기 휘날리며 (Taegukgi) and 말아톤 (Marathon) garnered a lot of interest from 30 something viewers, who usually make only a small portion of other films' viewership in Korea. Out of 100 viewers, the demographic distribution ratio of the film (20s:30s:40s=62%:33%:4%, a 10% increase in 30 something sales compared to Oldboy which ended up selling more than 3 Million tickets) will certainly make the investors and filmmakers proud.
