Chow Yun Fat To Star In Martial Arts Film For Zhang Yimou?

(Posted In)

chowyunfat.jpgPlease god, let this one be true ...

Chow Yun Fat's been on a horrible run since leaving Hong Kong to make films in the west with Crouching Tiger standing as the only really good thing he's done since then, but he looks to be on a bit of a run right now. The Pirates of the Caribbean sequels should at the very least be entertaining, I have high hopes for zombie-western The Wretched and then he's back with John Woo for The Battle of Red Cliff, which will hopefully revitalize both of their stalled careers. And now here's another one: Monkeypeaches is reporting that Chow is in negotiations to star in director Zhang (Hero, House of Flying Daggers) Yimou's upcoming third martial arts film alongside Gong Li, who will star as China's only female monarch.

Say "yes", Chow. Say "yes".
