Anchor Bay U.K Launch New 'Dark Asia' Label.

First DVD Release : 'The Commitment' on August 22nd. First theatrical release : 'APT' ('Apartment') from Ahn Byung-Ki, late 2005 in the UK.

Then comes the interesting part, what AB are calling 'Dark Tales of Japan' - six short films, from Hideo Nakata (RIngu), Takashi Shimizu (Ju-On), and Kiyoshi Kurosawa (Cure, etc.). This sounds like either the 'Umezzo Kazuo' films or the series which 'Marebito' by Takashi Shimizu was part of? Can't quite figure that one out. Oh, and there's a suggestion they have Kiyoshi Kurosawas 'Loft' too - though that could simply be an inappropriate and unclear mention of the film.

Also listed there is 'Journal', the alternative title for the Korean film 'Antarctic Journal' with Song Kang-Ho from 'Memories of Murder', 'Sympathy for Mr.Vengeance' and 'Joint Security Area'. That one is certainly one of the films I will pick up as soon as a subtitled DVD is released - probably in Korea first.
