Sympathy For Lady Vengeance. by Chan-Wook Park. New Poster.

(Posted In Action Asia Drama )

ladyvV2.jpegAnother good find from Hitman at KFC : a nice new poster for 'Sympathy For Lady Vengeance', which incidentally seems to be the films firm title. Note the URL for the Official Site... Nice. Anyhow, large version pops-up here.

I thought that first series of posters were much nicer . . . though perhaps a harder sell. Was there ever another alternative English title attached to this film?

Well, it's a lot more subtle than the last batch. I personally like this one better.

the original literal translation of the korean title to english was "the kind mrs.geum-ja"... hence the URL .

It's a shame that they've gone with that title and does worry me a tad.

I like "THE KIND MRS. GUEM-JA" and the poster posted here.

/just for the record.

Hey that is a better title, and it certainly makes OldBoy stand out a whole lot less as part of the trilogy.
That naming system has been confusing me for a long time... is Sympathy for Mr Vengeance the actual Korean translation?

This poster is nice, too... I guess time will tell which set portrays the film best....

i think the films been refered to in two ways, intially park seemed to label it "sympathy for lady vengeance" and said it was the final part of the trilogy... people naturally latched onto that more than the original "the kind miss..." and i suppose the switch or preference for "sympathy..." will have something to do with international licensing.

GAPS, the Korean title of SFMV is VENGEANCE IS MINE. I guess an homage to the 1979 Shohei Imamura film starring Ken Ogata.
